Agartala: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Tripura has launched a Voter Help Line in all 60 Assembly Constituencies, aiming to provide a centralized system for voters and political parties to address queries, concerns, and complaints during the General Election to the Lok Sabha.
An official directive, signed by Chief Electoral Officer Puneet Agarwal, underscores the establishment of a Voter Help Line at each Assembly Segment Level. The initiative seeks to promote awareness of the segment-wise Voter Help Line numbers.
Each Assembly Segment will have a dedicated Complaint Redressal Officer (CRO) designated by the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) to oversee the Voter Help Line. The CRO, along with their team, will record and address complaints promptly, assigning appropriate officers or teams to resolve them and providing feedback to the complainants.
Moreover, the appointed CRO, responsible for the Voter Help Line, will monitor social media handles related to the respective Assembly Segments. They will also track information shared by prominent political figures and local news channels to address any circulating issues or news effectively.
To ensure the efficiency of the system, all Complaint Redressal Officers (CROs) are empowered to liaise with civil and police sector officers, flying squads, static surveillance teams, and other relevant units promptly upon receiving complaints through the Voter Help Line.
The actions taken will be reported back to the CRO for necessary follow-up, under the supervision of the Assistant Returning Officer and the Returning Officer.
