Agartala: At least five persons claimed to be Rohingyas were apprehended in Unakoti of Tripura for allegedly entering India illegally.
As per reports, the five include two minors and were apprehended at Piturbazar Motor Stand in Kailashahar of Unakoti district.

Unakoti District Superintendent of Police, Kanta Jangir speaking to the media said that the interrogation is being conducted to ascertain their mode of entry into the state and also their intentions.

Jangir also stated that once the interrogation was complete, the police would nab the facilitator(s) who aided their entry into India.

The group comprises two men, two women, and one child.

According to sources, they crossed the India-Bangladesh border in the Maguruli area and were en route to Hyderabad.
Acting on a tip-off, the police intervened, leading to their arrest.
