Tripura Femina Miss India finalist Moumita Debbarma was felicitated recently at Bishramganj area of Sepahijala district.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma who was present at the event, said there is talent in the youths of the state and if they are provided good training they can showcase their talents. The state would initiate special professional training to boost the talents of the state’s youth.
Giving examples of international tennis icon Somdeb Debbarman, international gymnast Dipa Karmakar, Indian Idol winner Surabhi Debbarma and now Moumita Debbarma, all from Tripura are established in their respective fields, said Jishnu Debbarma.
Congratulating the family members of Moumita Debbarma, Deputy Chief Minister said ‘Every state have its unique cultural identity, the people of Tripura should encourage our new generation to promote our own cultural traditions’, reports Tripurainfo.
Speaking about the expansion of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (SBA) programmes, he appealed to Moumita Debbarma to participate in these awareness campaigns.
The felicitation programme was jointly organized by Sepahijala district administration and Tripura Tribal Employees Association.
