Hundreds of CPI-M cadres with banners protesting against terrorism and standing by the side of the families of the martyr’s soldiers went through the street.

Later speaking to reporters former Tripura chief minister and CPI-M politburo member Manik Sarkar said that he along with others paid homage to all those troopers of the CRPF who sacrificed their lives in the terrorist attack at Kashmir and are by the side of the martyrs’ families.

However, Sarkar said that he had read in the newspaper that the Indian intelligence had a prior input of such militant attack and in that case, it has to be examined on basis of that what additional security measures have been taken during movement of such a big convoy of security personnel.

He added an inquiry need to be done whether there was any lapse in the additional security measures if that was taken and if not then also who is responsible for it.

According to Sarkar, who is the present opposition leader of Tripura the biggest concern for him is that there is an attempt through this attack to weaken the unity among the people of the country.

Without naming anyone he said it has come in the news that in a particular area of J&K, a particular community of people are being targeted by a certain force and polarizing the situation against them.

He expressed if it is true immediate steps should be taken to stop such an attempt as it will help only those who are against India and conducting such attacks as it will add to further weaken the unity among the people of the country.

Meantime, many more similar protests against the attack were done by various other organizations throughout the state.
