Tripura TTAADC football team becomes the champion after defeating Pakistan in the Students Olympic Asian Games (SOAG) held in Thailand.

Besides the host country Thailand, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh took part in the tournament.

Executive Member of Sports and Youth Affairs of ADC Parikhshit Murasingh, welcomed the TTAADC Football team at Agartala Railway Station on Friday, which became the best Football team of Asia Continent.

The under-17 India team which consist of players mostly from Tripura besides three each from Haryana and Delhi had defeated Pakistan by 3-0 goals at Pattaya in Thailand.

Earlier, the team had defeated Bangladesh in the quarter-finals and Thailand by 7-0 goals in the semi-final.

Ujjal Debbarma of Tripura was the team captain while Anil Sharma was the team manager.

Earlier the team of Tripura TTAADC became champion by defeating Manipur from January 4 to 7.

Sports and Youth Affairs department of TTAADC will felicitate the team at Nuai Auditorium of Khumulwng on August 6.
