A doctor in Tripura has died of COVID-19 at the ILS Hospital in Agartala.
Dr Bablu Shukla Das, an anesthetist at the IGM Hospital, who tested positive for the viral infection, succumbed to the disease on Saturday night.
Dr Rajesh Chowdhury, secretary of the All Tripura Government Doctors Association (ATGDA), said Dr Shukla Das had been unwell for last one week.
He was suffering from pneumonia and was down with fever. He also complained of breathing difficulties.
Last week, the ATGDA said about two hundred doctors and nurses in the state had infected with the deadly virus.
So far 340 people have died in the state due to Covid-19.
