Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has exhorted his Mizoram counterpart to take up the Fuldangsei issue with the Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) if it has any doubts over the border village being a part of Tripura.
“If anybody has any objection over a particular area of inter-State border, the concerned individual or State can approach the MHA to check the geographical map of the spot. Therefore, it will be wise to take up the Fuldangsei issue with the MHA,” chief minister Deb told reporters in Agartala on Saturday.

He said that there should not be any clash over territory within the country.
“Under the federal structure, the MHA is the competent authority to check the geographical area of a particular area. Everybody should respect the inter-State border prepared by the competent authority,” Deb said.
Whatever problems erupted at Fuldangsei has been sorted out officially, and one should not create problems unnecessarily, the chief minister said.

On the Mizoram government’s letter for a fresh inspection of the border village, Deb categorically stated that every letter does not deserve a reply.
“We must work together instead of indulging in quarrel over territory,” Deb reiterated.
Deb’s statement assumes significance in view of the Mizoram government’s request for a joint inspection to determine the rights over Fuldangsei, a village along the Tripura-Mizoram border.
