AIZAWL: Marked a significant milestone in the healthcare infrastructure of Tripura, chief minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurated eight new facilities at Tripura Medical College and Dr BRAM Teaching Hospital, Hapania.

The inauguration ceremony saw the unveiling of several crucial additions aimed at enhancing medical services and patient care within Tripura.

Among the new facilities are the state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Complex housed within the new Outpatient Department (OPD) building.

This complex is equipped with modern amenities to cater to critical patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of care.

Furthermore, the inauguration included the introduction of cabins featuring modern facilities and an open terrace adorned with greenery.

These spaces are designed to provide a serene environment conducive to healing and relaxation for patients and their families.

In a significant boost to specialized medical services, a new Operating Theatre (OT) dedicated to the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) department was inaugurated.

This facility is equipped with advanced equipment and technology to support complex surgical procedures, further enhancing the hospital’s capabilities.

Moreover, the inauguration included the launch of the National Programme for Control of Blindness in the Ophthalmology department, reaffirming the government’s commitment to combating preventable blindness and eye diseases.

Additionally, a Retina Surgery Facility was introduced within the Ophthalmology Department, offering specialized care for retinal disorders.

Recognizing the importance of skill development in nursing, the inauguration featured the unveiling of the Skill Lab at Tripura College of Nursing.

This facility will serve as a training ground for aspiring nurses, providing them with hands-on experience and practical knowledge to excel in their profession.

Complementing the Skill Lab, a Community Lab was also inaugurated at Tripura College of Nursing, focusing on community health initiatives and research to address local healthcare challenges effectively.

Lastly, the inauguration ceremony witnessed the unveiling of a 30-bedded high-end Dialysis Unit, addressing the growing demand for renal care services in the region.

This unit is equipped with advanced dialysis machines and staffed by skilled healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care for patients suffering from kidney-related ailments.

Following the inauguration, Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha expressed his pride in the new infrastructure facilities and emphasized their role in advancing healthcare delivery in Tripura.
