Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday announced that he will donate his six months’ for installing dustbins in 1100 markets in rural areas across the state.

He announced this while addressing a seminar on responsibility, power and function of a three-tier Panchayat at Rabindra Bhawan in Agartala.

“I will donate my next six months’ salary to the 1,100 village market committees to install dustbins in every village market,” Deb said.

“I request everyone from all walks of life to join hands in making Tripura a garbage-free state,” he added.

He further informed that the state government has decided to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s birthday week as ‘seva saptah’.

The CM further informed the government’s decision to increase the monthly allowance for village heads.

“I want them to stay away from corrupt practices and so the government has decided to increase their monthly salaries,” Deb added.

“Panchayat Secretary can now directly communicate with the Principal Secretary about any misconduct of his concerned area and resolve it immediately,” Deb added.

Stressing that his government will not tolerate corruption, Deb said, ” am not going to tolerate anyone who is involved in corruption in any part of the state.”

He further urged the public representatives to give it up as well.
