Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday announced that he will donate his six monthsโ€™ for installing dustbins in 1100 markets in rural areas across the state.

He announced this while addressing a seminar on responsibility, power and function of a three-tier Panchayat at Rabindra Bhawan in Agartala.

โ€œI will donate my next six monthsโ€™ salary to the 1,100 village market committees to install dustbins in every village market,โ€ Deb said.

โ€œI request everyone from all walks of life to join hands in making Tripura a garbage-free state,โ€ he added.

He further informed that the state government has decided to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modiโ€˜s birthday week as โ€˜seva saptahโ€™.

The CM further informed the governmentโ€™s decision to increase the monthly allowance for village heads.

โ€œI want them to stay away from corrupt practices and so the government has decided to increase their monthly salaries,โ€ Deb added.

โ€œPanchayat Secretary can now directly communicate with the Principal Secretary about any misconduct of his concerned area and resolve it immediately,โ€ Deb added.

Stressing that his government will not tolerate corruption, Deb said, โ€ am not going to tolerate anyone who is involved in corruption in any part of the state.โ€

He further urged the public representatives to give it up as well.
