Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb congratulated the State’s chess wonder kid Arshiya Das for bagging a bronze medal at the National U-11 Open & Girls Chess Championship 2019 in New Delhi on Saturday.
The national chess tournament was held at New Delhi’s Indira Sports Complex from November 15 to November 23, 2019.

A total of 434 players took part in the chess competition that was organized by the Delhi Chess Association.
Deb tweeted, “Congratulations to our state’s little star Arshiya for winning Bronze in the National U-11 Open & Girls Chess Championship at New Delhi.”
A student of Agartala’s Holy Cross School, Arshiya, also became the only Indian to clinch gold medal at the Asian School Chess Championship in Uzbekistan this year.

The eight- year-old girl now is now aiming high for the Asian Youth & World Cadet Chess Championship 2020 which will be held in Georgia.
Deb also wished her luck for her participation in the prestigious international chess tournament.
He tweeted, “Also my best wishes to her for getting selected to represent team India at the Asian Youth & World Cadet Chess Championship 2020, Georgia.”
Arshiya, who had been playing chess as a toddler, had also won a number of chess tournaments over the years.
