Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb sought a detailed report from BSF after 38 of its men from the 138 Battalion tested positive for COVID-19.

State education minister Ratan Lal Nath informed that home secretary Barun Kumar Sahu has written to the BSF IG regarding the matter.

“The BSF has been asked to submit a detailed report on the spread COVID-19 in its camp within seven days,” Nath informed.

The letter further stated that Chief Minister Biplab Deb has also sought the reason(s) that led to the spike in COVID-19 cases in the camp.

Reportedly, 13 more BSF personnel on Tuesday tested positive for COVID-19, taking the state tally to 42.

Of the 42 cases, 40 cases are active cases which include 38 BSF personnel.
