Tripura Cabinet clears 107 posts

Agartala: The Tripura Cabinet on Saturday approved the creation and filling up of 107 posts across multiple departments, enhanced the monthly maintenance allowance for widows of World War II veterans, and cleared a welfare scheme for dependent children of CAPF personnel killed in service, Cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury said.

Briefing reporters after a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manik Saha, Chowdhury said the Council of Ministers approved a series of recruitment and social welfare proposals.

He said the Cabinet approved filling 15 vacancies in the Election Department, including 11 posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) in Group C and four Multi-Tasking Staff posts in Group D.

Of the LDC posts, six will be filled through direct recruitment and five through promotion, while all Group D posts will be filled through direct recruitment.

In a welfare measure, the Cabinet decided to increase the monthly maintenance allowance for 12 widows of World War II veterans from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. The allowance was last revised in 2019, he said.

The government also approved monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,000 for unmarried dependent sons and daughters above 18 years of Central Armed Police Forces personnel killed in the line of duty.

Only one eligible family member will receive the benefit under the scheme, for which budgetary provisions have already been made, the minister added.

Under the Jail Department, approval was granted to fill four vacant posts of allopathic pharmacists.

The Cabinet also approved the creation of 43 Group C technical posts in the Printing and Stationery Department under the General Administration Department.

Recruitment to these posts will be conducted by the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT), with the minimum qualification set as Madhyamik pass along with ITI certification.

Additionally, 50 posts of Senior Computer Assistant in Group C (non-gazetted) were created for the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts under the Finance Department. These posts will be filled through the Tripura Public Service Commission.

Chowdhury said the total number of posts approved across departments is 107.
