The Bharaitya Janata Party (BJP) unit of Tripura has prepared a campaign blueprint for the ensuing Assembly elections in the State early next year.
Tripura BJP sources revealed, Himanta Biswa Sarma during his recent visit to the State has already finalized the blueprint for the party’s campaign trial in the State.
The blueprint incorporates at least 60 mega rallies in vital constituencies of the State which have been the bastions of the Left for the last many years.
Sources in the state BJP unit also said the mega rallies will be graced by national level leaders of the party.
A team of 60 MPs, MLAs and ministers from different BJP-ruled states will be camping in the State from New Year till the election, party sources added.
BJP state president Biplab Kumar Deb said campaigns have already been launched at the grassroots level.
Elaborating on the planned campaign, Deb said BJP national president Amit Shah will hold two public rallies on January 7 at Ambassa in Dhalai and Udaipur in South Tripura.
According to party insiders, the BJP has agreed in principle to forge an alliance with the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT), the National Conference of Tripura and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (the Tipraha-Rajeswar faction), except on the matter of seat sharing.
The State BJP leaders said, Himanta Biswa Sarma will give a refreshed momentum and guide the party to scripting a success story in the Left Front ruled state.
Sharma, who shifted to the saffron brigade from the Congress months before the Assembly elections in his home state of Assam around two years back has also prepared priority areas and a list of star campaigners, State BJP sources added.
Himanta was earlier appointed as the election in-charge of the BJP for Tripura by national president Amit Shah.
He is the convener of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), an alliance of regional parties led by the BJP.
