Tripura police have been successful in breaking the chain of illegal drugs trade. The joint operations conducted by the Border Security Force (BSF), Enforcement Directorate (ED), Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have been successful.  

This was claimed by Director General of Tripura Police – VS Yadav in a video message on Saturday.

He claimed that as many as 259 drug cases have been registered and arrested 373 drug dealers across the State in the last one year. 

DGP VS Yadav said that the police is making every possible effort to make Tripura a drug-free State.

In his words, intoxication is extremely harmful to society. “Intoxicated people are unable to lead a normal life. So, the Tripura police are strict against drugs usage,” said Tripura DGP VS Yadav. 

Yadav claimed that the Tripura police has almost succeeded in breaking the chain of drug trafficking. 

He said the BSF, ED, DRI and NCB have been providing every possible assistance to curb drug menace in the State. 

Yadav added that over the last one year, 21,010.965 kgs of cannabis, 1,62,565 bottles of cough syrup, 1,44,571 narcotic tablets, 3393.7644 grams of heroin have been seized and 1,97,70,275 cannabis plants have been destroyed. 

He informed that the State police has decided to intensify anti-drug drive in Tripura in the days to come.
