Sensation prevails after the body of a six-year-old girl was found in the jungle at Teliamura under the Khowai district on Saturday night.
It has been suspected that the girl was raped and then murdered.
The body of the girl was found naked in Teliamura’s Nishan Chandra Para jungle.
However, the police are yet to declare anything before conducting post-mortem.
Police arrested one youth, identified as Abhijit Tripura, suspecting his involvement in the suspected rape and murder case.
The locals and family members of the victim have demanded that the accused should be hanged to death.
The victim’s father is a daily wage earner.
He told that the victim girl had gone missing from home since last Wednesday.
They searched her in different places, but after failing to locate her, a missing complaint was filed with the police.
