Several incidents of poll violence have been reported from Tripura ahead of the upcoming TTAADC elections.

Political clashes are on the rise in Tripura with several incidents of poll violence being reported across the State.

In a clash reported from Takarjala on Friday, several people sustained injuries with lone being shifted to the GB Pant Hospital in Agartala for treatment.

The clash at Takarjala broke out between the workers and supporters of BJP’s ally IPFT and the Pradyot Deb Barman-led TIPRA.

Most of the injured persons are being treated at a local hospital in Takarjala.

A party office of the IPFT was also ransacked in the clashes.

The police reached the spot upon receiving information and brought the situation under control.

On Wednesday too, a political clash was also reported from Duski of West Tripura district between the workers and supporters of TIPRA and IPFT.

A couple of days back, a similar clash was reported from Mandai.

Similarly, the CPI-M has accused the ruling BJP of attacking its party office in Pecharthal earlier this week.

Polls to the TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council) will be held on April 4.
