Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday distributed education materials to the school kids in Agartala as part of ONGC Tripura’s CSR initiative.

The primary school students received education kit comprising of school bag, exercise books, an umbrella and water bottle.

Speaking on the occasion, Nath lauded the social commitment of ONGC and said that the students should fully utilize the educational material donated by ONGC and concentrate on their studies so that they can perform better in their academic activities.

Nath also said that Asset Manager of ONGC Tripura G K Singha Roy assured him that ONGC will try to support educational initiatives taken up by the State.

Addressing the gathering, Singha Roy said that ONGC has been supplying gas to all the power stations of the State so that all households of Tripura get electricity.

He also said that through the CSR programme of ONGC, the company wants to make the people of Tripura self-sufficient and reiterated ONGC’s commitment to the development of the State.

He also disclosed that ONGC Tripura Asset has spent more than Rs six crore in the financial year 2017-18 and within first three months of the financial year 2018-19, ONGC has already spent around Rs three crores under CSR head.

He further informed that nearly Rs 1.5 crore have been spent for education in the financial year 2017-18.
