Nagaland Assam: Interstate liquor smuggling network busted in Guwahati Nine Bangladeshi nationals held in Tripura

Agartala: The Government Railway Police (GRP) detained nine Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala Railway Station in Tripura as they were heading to Bangalore, Gujarat, and Delhi in search of employment.

Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das informed reporters that the GRP had received a tip-off regarding the presence of these individuals, who had entered Tripura and arrived at Agartala Railway Station.

“Acting on this information, we apprehended nine Bangladeshi nationals, including six women and three men, who had entered with the assistance of a tout. We confiscated Bangladeshi currency and documents from them. Interrogation is ongoing to identify the primary facilitator. They will be presented before the court with a request for police remand,” stated the officer.

The detained individuals are identified as Salma Begum, Nilupa Begum, Surabhi Ali, Jannati Akhtar, Miraz Khan, Akash Haoladar, Litan Haoladar, Ripan Pramanik, and Ibrahim.

Their intended destinations included Bangalore, Gujarat, and Delhi.
