Bharataiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah on Monday alleged that the Left Front government in Tripura has only looted the common people of the State during its rule in the past 25 years.
Speaking at a public gathering in Khowai HS School playground, BJP president Shah, while appealing to the people to vote for a change, said, “It is time to bring a change in Tripura through the ensuing Assembly elections slated for February 18.”
He asked the people to vote the BJP to power for bringing development in Tripura where the CPI-M has been in power for the past 25 years.
Lashing out at the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar government in Tripura, Shah alleged, “The Left government has just looted the common people of the State in the name of development.”
Like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently visited Tripura and delivered speeches in two election rallies, BJP president Shah also raised the slogan of ‘Chalo Paltai’ (Let’s change) to form a new government after the Assembly polls for new horizons of development in the State.
A large number of people gathered at the school field on Monday and attended Shah’s election rally.
The rally covered the constituency of Teliamura, Kalyanpur and Khowai.
The party candidates of the constituency also remained present in the gathering.
Assam Finance Minister and the convenor of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) and BJP’s poll observer in Tripura Himanta Biswa Sharma along with other party leaders were also present at the election rally of Shah and also raised the slogan of Chalo ‘paltai’.
