Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has assured that the journalists in the State will get COVID-19 vaccine on a priority basis.

“Chief Minister Biplab Deb has assured that journalists being frontline warriors will be given COVID-19 vaccines on a priority basis,” said Agartala Press Club Pranab Sarkar.
This assurance from the Tripura Chief Minister follows demand from the journalist fraternity in the State that media persons along with their family members be given COVID-19 vaccine on a priority basis.
The first consignment of COVID-19 vaccine for Tripura, containing 56,500 doses, is likely to arrive in Agartala on Wednesday.

Along with rest of the Country, the first phase of vaccination drive in Tripura will start on January 16.
Meanwhile, Director of National Health Mission (NHM), Tripura – Siddhartha Jaiswal informed that vaccines will be administered at 15 locations across the State on January 16.
One location in Khowai district and two locations each in the remaining seven districts have been finalised, where COVID-19 vaccines will be administered.
“In the first phase of vaccination drive, 45,000 health workers will be vaccinated against COVID-19,” informed Director of National Health Mission (NHM), Tripura – Siddhartha Jaiswal.
