BJP ally in Tripura, Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) will held demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

IPFT assistant general secretary Mangal Debbarma informed that they will stage a peaceful demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on December 2 next.

On November 28, a group of IPFT supporters, workers and leaders will leave Agartala for the national capital.

He said at least 500 people will attend in the demonstration.

Their main demand is Central Government should place a bill in the Parliament for creation of a separate state called Tipraland, comprising the areas of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

He said if Central Government created new state like Ladakh then why not they will create ‘Tipraland’.

In the wake of separation of Ladakh from Jammu and Kashmir and forming territorial council, the leaders of IPFT urged to the Central Government to place relevant Bill in the Parliament for creation of separate Tipraland.

It is notable that separate state called ‘Tipraland’ is the main slogan of IPFT and to fulfill their demand they staged blockade of the national highway and railway for ten days in 2017.

A high level modality committee was formed by the Central Government, for to evaluate the socio-economic, linguistic, educational, and cultural aspect of the tribals in Tripura.

The committee was formed one year back but till now no report has been submitted by the Central Government.

IPFT is demanding to submit the report.

And they also raised the issue of Bru refugee urging for an immediate solution.
