Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb claimed that India is the pioneer of the present day technology of internet and satellite which existed since the Mahabharata era and it can be proved from the live commentary relay of Kurukshetra battle by Sanjay to the blind king Dhritarashtra, father of the Kauravas.
Deb added that technology was invented more than thousand years ago and that the National Informatics Centre (NIC) was just using it.
Deb said, “After Narendra Modi became the Prime minister everyone became familiar with computerization as because those who are not aware of it also got a laptop or a palmtop. Operating internet, WhatsApp and Facebook has become mandatory as Prime Minister Modi himself monitors it.”
The Tripura CM viewed that since the era of the Mahabharata, India was top in technology but somehow in the middle it got lost, but again today India has regained its position in technology in the globe and which can be proved from the large number of software engineers who plays the most vital role in the US companies.
According to Deb, the evolution of modern communication technology and internet is not something new but existed from a very long time in India.
He was addressing the inaugural programme of a two-day ‘Regional Workshop on PDS Computerization and Reforms’ at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala on Tuesday.
Referring to the digitization of the Public Distribution System (PDS), the Chief Minister said it would ensure transparency in distribution of food items through the ration card system.
Till date, 97.72 per cent ration cards in the State have been linked with Aadhaar cards, the Chief Minister claimed.
The newly-elected BJP government has declared that it plans to make Tripura a model state in the next three years.
