Indian Railways, which has resumed services of passenger trains from Tuesday (May 12), has decided to run one special train (No. 02501/02502) between Agartala and New Delhi on weekly basis.
Confirming this on its Twitter handle, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Tuesday said train No. 02501 will run from Agartala (on Mondays) with effect from May 18, 2020.
On Mondays (starting on May 18), the train will leave Agartala railway station at 7 pm.
The other stations where the train will halt are Badarpur, Guwahati, Kokrajhar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Barauni, Patliputra, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Kanpur Central.
The train will reach New Delhi on Wednesday at 11.20 am.
Train No 02502 will start its journey from New Delhi at 7.50 pm on Wednesdays (starting on May 20) and arrive at Agartala on Friday.
The Northeast Frontier Railway general manager (operations) has informed that the special train will have a total of 18 coaches including one AC-First Class coach, four AC-2 tier coaches, 10 AC-3 tier coaches, one Pantry car and two Brake, Luggage-cum-Generator car.
The passengers will be able to travel by the special train only if they have confirmed e-tickets.
They can book tickets through IRCTC website – www.irctc.co.in or the IRCTC mobile app.
The Railway Ministry said the passengers will have to mandatorily download the Aarogya Setu app in their mobile phones before starting their journey by train.
The passengers will also have to maintain social distancing.
The Railway Ministry on its Twitter handle said: “Indian Railways is going to start few passenger trains services. It is mandatory for passengers to download Aarogya Setu app in their mobile phones, before commencing their journey.”
