Guwahati: A 10-member Indian Coast Guard delegation is undertaking a six-day visit to the Assam Rifles formation at Tripura’s Kunjaban Garrison from December 22 to 27 to boost institutional ties and operational coordination between the two forces.

The engagement is part of the Charter of Affiliation, which seeks to deepen cooperation through regular interaction and the sharing of professional experiences.

The delegation held meetings with senior officers of 21 Sector Assam Rifles, including the Deputy Inspector General, where discussions covered shared security concerns, emerging regional challenges, and opportunities for closer collaboration in the future.

The visitors also attended the Beating Retreat ceremony, offering them a glimpse into the traditions and heritage of the Assam Rifles.

As part of the itinerary, the team visited the Integrated Check Post in Agartala and received briefings on border control measures and cross-border trade operations.

The delegation also toured key cultural and historical sites in Tripura, including the Ujjayanta Palace.

The Coast Guard delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Tripura at Lok Bhavan in Agartala on December 24.

The visit underscored the growing need for stronger inter-service coordination to enhance national security and improve operational synergy across domains.
