West Bengal TMC leader Udayan Guha has stirred a major controversy on Monday when he said that if attacks on Tripura TMC workers continue, the BJP workers in West Bengal will face the consequences.
He said that BJP workers in Dinhata, the TMC leader’s former constituency, may not lead peacefully lives in the constituency, if attacks on TMC workers do not stop in Tripura.
The BJP, however, hit back at the TMC saying that such threats will not intimidate their party workers.
Notably, several TMC workers, including three youth leaders from West Bengal, on Saturday, were allegedly attacked by BJP workers at Ambasa in Tripura.
Meanwhile, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has blamed union home minister Amit Shah for allegedly staging the attack on TMC workers including that on her nephew Abhishek Banerjee.
“Such attacks would not have been possible without the Union home minister’s active support,” Mamata Banerjee said.
Mamata Banerjee further said that the TMC won’t get intimidated by these attacks.
“The BJP is running an anarchic government in Tripura, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and wherever they are in power. We condemn the attacks on Abhishek and our party activists in Tripura,” Mamata Banerjee said.
