As many as eight people, including former CPI-M MLA Rajendra Reang, were injured in an attack allegedly carried out by BJP supporters on the left party office at Laljhuri in north Tripura’s Kanchanpur on Friday evening.

According to The Times of India, Two of the injured have been shifted to the district hospital in critical condition, while six others, including the ex-MLA, are under treatment in local hospitals.

Superintendent of police (north) Manik Das said the cops have launched an investigation against ten accused persons based on a complaint filed by CPM workers. All of those accused were absconding, he said.
