Floods continue to wreak havoc in Tripura

The water level in Kailasahar town has started to come down but a few villages like Khawrabill, Litiyapura, Dabipur and others are still facing the flood fury.

More than 26,000 people were rescued from flood-affected regions in Tripura alone.

Erratic power and water supply have also forced many schools and governments offices to remain closed. A number of embankments have caved in at various places, with several rivers flowing above the danger mark.

On the other hand where few people have moving to their houses many are still stuck in relief camps.

Many NGO’s, volunteers of Art of living, Athletic camps are continuously distributing relief material including food, mineral water bottles, clothes and other necessary things.

With the rain-fed Khowai river inundating fresh areas, the situation in Tripura has deteriorated.

The toll has already risen to four in the past few days, and around 26,000 were reported affected.

Seven of the eight districts in the state have been affected, with the situation in Unakoti being the worst.

Government sources said 180 relief camps have been set up to provide shelter to as many as 6,054 families
