A family of six, including four children, has been held by Tripura police in the state’s Unakoti district. 

The family of Rohingyas have been arrested by the police for entering into Indian territory illegally. 

The apprehended Rohingya had entered into India illegally through the Bangladesh border. 

Police accompanied by personnel of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) held the Rohingyas after acting on a specific input.

The police and TSR personnel raided a house belonging to one Shahnaj Ali at Ichabpur area in the district and held the family of Rohingyas. 

Among those apprehended included two adults and four children. 

They had entered into India from Dawki in Meghalaya and then moved to Assam. 

Later, they boarded an Agartala-bound train and reached Tripura.
