Former Tripura DGP and state chief information commissioner (SCIC) – AK Shukla – had withdrawn excess salary during his services with the Tripura Government.
This came to light following a notification issued by deputy secretary to the Government of Tripura – M Rema.

The notification stated that former Tripura police chief was drawing a sum of Rs 2,33,125 per month with effect from July 13 last year, which was excessive.
“Shri AK Shukla, state chief Information commissioner (SCIC), is entitled to get a pay of Rs 2,25,000.00 plus 17% DA (Rs 19,125.00) minus pension of Rs 1,12,500, that is, totalling Rs 1,31,625,” the notification read.

However, former Tripura DGP AK Shukla was drawing Rs 2,33,125 per month as salary, which was Rs 1,01,500 more than that of which he is entitled to withdraw.
Now, the Tripura Government has issued an order directing concerned department to recover the excess withdrawn salary from former Tripura DGP and SCIC – Akhil Kumar Shukla.
