Tripura began door to door COVID-19 survey of the health status of the people from Monday.

But in some places the health workers are facing problem to conduct the survey.

At Mungiakami area, the health workers entry was denied by the villagers.

In some other places also the health workers are facing trouble, even on Tuesday.

In an unexpected experience, the medical team faced public anger when they went for the house to house COVID-19 tests in Mungiakami.

Mungiakami is in Khowai district.

Mungiakami villagers blockade the road.

They sat on the road for hours on Monday.

They stopped the health team from entering their area for house-to-house COVID-19 tests, which created a turmoil in that area.

The villagers were adamant that they don’t have the disease and that’s why they were not wearing any masks.

And that they don’t need any tests.

The district magistrate of Khowai district Smita Mal MS, SP Kiran Rao, SDPO V Jagadiswar Reddy rushed to the spot.

They tried to negotiate with the local public.

But they were adamant.

The local villagers said when government-imposed lockdown is in place then why doctors and others will enter into the village.

They were of the view that they might spread the virus.

The DM later said, they had no plan for tests on Tuesday.

At the end, the officials and health staff had to return from the village without testing and mass gathering was already made by the villagers during the protest.
