The Tripura chief minister said that it is not easy to send someone to jail because he controls the police.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties have slammed Biplab Deb for his statement, saying that the Tripura chief minister has no respect for the judiciary.
“Biplab Deb does not respect judiciary. Judiciary is the most important pillar of democracy. Democracy is at stake,” CPI-M leader Jitendra Chowdhury said.
Top Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee also slammed the Tripura chief minister for “shamelessly mocking democracy”.
Banerjee further said that Biplab Deb is a “disgrace to the entire nation”.
Abhishek Banerjee tweeted: “He shamelessly mocks Democracy, MOCKS the Hon’ble JUDICIARY and seemingly gets away with it! Will the SUPREME COURT take cognizance of his comments that reflect such grave disrespect?”
