AGARTALA: The “Save Constitution Forum”, backed by the CPI-M and the Congress, secured victory in the elections of the Tripura Bar Association (TBA).
CPI-M and Congress backed “Save Constitution Forum” defeated the “Aainjebi Unnayan Mancha”, which was backed by BJP and TIPRA parties.

The Tripura Bar Association (TBA), the largest lawyers’ association in the Northeast state, witnessed Mrinal Kanti Biswas (Congress) and Koushik Indu (CPI-M) emerge victorious as president and secretary, respectively, in the elections conducted on Sunday (March 24).
Their electoral victories were announced by returning officer Sandeep Dutta Chowdhury on Monday (March 25).

The elections, held across four centres with approximately 500 eligible voters, saw increased participation compared to last year’s 416.
Following the conclusion of the vote counting process late on Sunday (March 24) evening, returning officer and advocate Sandip Dutta Chowdhury declared, “Advocates Mrinal Kanti Biswas, Subrata Debnath and Koushik Indu were elected as president, vice-president, and secretary of the Tripura Bar Association (TBA), respectively, in the bar association election.”
“Advocates Amar Debbarma and Utpal Das were elected as assistant secretaries. A total of 463 out of 500 voters cast their votes,” he added.
