Tripura has registered 11 more new COVID19 positive cases taking the state’s total to 207.

Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet on Tuesday evening said out of the total infected patients, 10 are returnees from Mumbai by train.

The chief minister also informed that the other infected patient is a family member of a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan from the 86th Battalion based at Ambassa in Dhalai district.

According to sources, the patient is a pregnant woman which is wife of a BSF jawan.

The lady has been shifted to GBP hospital of Agartala.

On Monday, Tripura registered 4 new COVID19 positive cases taking the state’s total to 196.

Informing about the detection of the positive cases on Monday, chief minister Deb said 990 samples were tested in the state on the day, out of which 4 persons tested positive for the virus.

On Tuesday, India registered a rise of 6,535 COVID19 positive cases, taking the total number of infections to 1,45,380.

The number of active COVID19 cases in the country has climbed to 80,722, while 60,490 people have been discharged after their recovery.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4,167 people across the country.

According to the Union Health Ministry, around 41.61 per cent of patients have recovered so far.
