Tripura has registered 53 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the overall tally to 803.
Confirming the detection of new cases, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet on Sunday night said 1,153 samples were tested in the state on Sunday, out of which 53 were found positive for COVID19.

The chief minister informed that Sepahijala district has reported 49 positive cases while 4 other cases have been reported from Gomati district.
Deb also said all the infected patients returned to the state from Chennai by train.
“53 people (Sepahijala Dist: 49 & Gomati Dist: 4) found COVID-19 #POSITIVE in Tripura out of 1153 samples tested. All of them have returned from Chennai by train,” chief minister Deb tweeted.

With the new cases, the number of total active COVID19 cases registered in Tripura stands at 607.
Earlier, a total of 192 COVID19 patients were discharged from the hospitals in the state after their recovery.
The chief minister on Sunday informed that one COVID19 patient died an unnatural death.
A total of 3 COVID19 cases have migrated from the state.
“Confirmed case: 803. Active case: 607. Discharge: 192. Migrated: 3. Unnatural Death: 1,” chief minister Deb said in the tweet.
