COVID19 positive cases cross 2,000-mark in Tripura

The COVID19 positive cases have crossed 2,000-mark in Tripura on Sunday after detection of 105 new cases in the state.

With the new cases registered in Tripura on Sunday, the total number of COVID19 cases reached 2,068 in the state.

Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said a total of 1,854 tests were conducted for COVID19 in the state on Sunday, out of which 105 were found positive.

“Alert ! 105 people found COVID-19 positive today out of 1854 samples tested,” chief minister Deb.

As the number of positive cases is on the rise in Tripura, the chief minister has uyrged all the citizens of the state to remain cautious.

“As the numbers are increasing, I urge everyone to stay cautious,” Deb tweeted.

The chief minister informed that of the 105 new cases, 37 are from West Tripura district, 29 are from Gomoti district, 18 from Sepahijala district, 5 are from North Tripura district, 7 cases have been reported from South Tripura, 5 cases have been reported from Dhalai and 4 positive cases have been reported from Unokoti district.

On Saturday, chief minister Deb hinted that the government might impose lockdown again in the state as the number of COVID19 infected people is increasing in the state alarmingly.
