Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb will begin going on surprise visits to different villages and will review the preparedness to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
This was informed by state education minister Ratan Lal Nath.
He said that the state government is giving more stress on home quarantine of people as there is not enough institutional quarantine facility option with the state government.
“The cabinet has decided to give importance on home quarantine so that the fight against COVID-19 is effective,” Nath said.
The state government has ordered each and every village to make preparation to combat the pandemic.
Nath also informed that the Chief Minister also spoke to some village chiefs and village secretaries and asked them to keep an eye on the proper implementation of quarantine protocols.
“He also advised them to set up village-level committees in every village,” Nath added.
Biplab Deb also instructed the secretaries of panchayats and village committees to set up quarantine centres in their respective areas for accommodating suspected COVID-19 cases or those coming from are hotspot areas.
