Tripura police resorted to lathicharge against several lockdown violators in Agartala.

To prevent public gatherings of any sort, police reportedly kept a strict vigil on the public movement and no one was allowed to go anywhere without valid papers.

Even though most of the people stayed indoors, there were, however, a few who moved out defying the lockdown protocols.

The police came down heavily on these violators,

Police had alerted the people not to come on the roads and avoid mass gathering to prevent the spread of the Covid-19.

Many shops, business establishments were also opened.

As per orders, all shops selling essential items like grocery and medicine will remain open during the 21-day lockdown period.
