Agartala: Tripura Health Secretary Kiran Gitte on Thursday dismissed allegations of a question paper leak in the Community Health Officer (CHO) recruitment examination, asserting that the test was conducted in a fair and transparent manner with adequate safeguards in place.
Addressing a press conference, Gitte said the allegations lacked a factual basis and that the examination process had been conducted in accordance with established procedures.
He said the authorities had reviewed the claims but found no evidence suggesting that the integrity of the examination had been compromised.
“The examination was conducted transparently and there is no substance in the allegations of a paper leak,” Gitte said.
He said the handling, transportation and distribution of question papers were carried out under a secure protocol to prevent any possibility of unauthorised access. According to him, the examination was conducted under strict supervision at all designated centres.
The Health Secretary said the department remained committed to ensuring that all recruitments were conducted in a fair, merit-based and transparent manner. He added that the government would take appropriate action if any credible evidence of malpractice surfaced, but no such material had been received so far.
Gitte urged candidates not to be misled by unverified reports or rumours circulating on social media, saying such claims could create unnecessary anxiety among aspirants and raise doubts over a recruitment process conducted in compliance with prescribed norms.
He said the department had put in place adequate checks at every stage of the examination to maintain its credibility and ensure equal opportunity for all candidates.
The clarification came amid allegations raised by some groups over the conduct of the CHO recruitment examination, with claims that the question paper had been leaked before the test.
The Health Department denied the allegations, maintaining that the recruitment exercise was conducted without any irregularity.
The CHO recruitment examination is being held to fill vacancies in the state’s healthcare system as part of efforts to strengthen public health services.
