The mortal remains of Tripura’s martyred BSF jawan, Sudip Sarkar, arrived at his home in Agartala.

Sudip Sarkar lost his life during a joint operation launched by the security forces against terrorists at the Machil sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday night.

His mortal remains were brought to Agartala in the afternoon on Tuesday.

Thousands of people gathered at the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala to have a glimpse of the mortal remains of the martyred jawan.

BSF officers and jawans were also present at the airport where a Guard of Honour ceremony was organised.

Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb also went to Sudip Sarkar’s house at Dhaleswar after the arrival of the mortal remains.

The chief minister paid homage to the martyred jawan.

Chief minister Deb said, “Sudip Sarkar laid down his life while fighting against Pakistan-backed militants in Kashmir. No one is more selfless and brave than a soldier.”

“In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with his family,” he added.

Former chief minister Manik Sarkar also visited the martyr’s home and talked to his family members on Sunday evening.

Thousands of people gathered Sudip’s house and paid homage to the martyred jawan.
