Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified its operations across Tripura, resulting in detention of two more Bangladeshi nationals, who allegedly entered the state illegally.

According to the BSF, a joint operation with Tripura police was launched on July 23 based on specific intelligence.

Around 7:00 PM, two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended while attempting to cross into Indian territory in Tripura near the Srinnagar area.

The detainees have been identified as Md Ibrahim (45) and Jamal Miah (22) – both from Bangladesh.

“After a preliminary inquiry, both individuals were handed over to the state police for further legal action,” stated the BSF.

The BSF stated that it has intensified crackdown on illegal migration by Bangladeshi nationals into Tripura and noted that it has stepped up vigilance in close coordination with other agencies in the border areas.
