โ€œWith his strong RSS links, it is quite common for the Governor to act the way he has been acting,โ€ Sarkar further said while questioning the Governorโ€™s role in the increasing number incidents of attack on journalists in the state.

He was addressing a gathering at West Tripura district CPI (M) office during a function organised in the remembrance of Bichandra Manu.

Manu and 13 other CPI (M) leaders were killed on October 12, 1988, while they were participating in a party programme and since then the CPI (M) has been organising this day as Bichandra Manu Martyrโ€™s Day in the state.
