AGARTALA: A 16-year-old girl from Tripura, who was missing for the past over three months, has been rescued in Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
The rescued girl was abducted from Kailashahar area in Tripura on December 18 last year.

She was successfully rescued by police in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on Monday (March 25), an official statement stated.
The rescue operation was initiated by police following a specific complaint, launching a comprehensive investigation that utilized cyber technology to track the whereabouts of the abducted girl.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Kailashahar in Tripura, Jayanta Karmakar, stated that the girl’s presence was detected in Ahmedabad through these technological means.

“Subsequently, the investigating officer (IO) of the case, sub-inspector Pompi Nath, was dispatched to Ahmedabad to facilitate the girl’s rescue,” the SDPO explained.
“With the collaboration of the Gujarat police, our officer successfully rescued the girl from a locality in Ahmedabad. Additionally, the perpetrator responsible for the abduction was apprehended at the same location,” he said.
The swift and coordinated efforts of law enforcement personnel from both Tripura and Gujarat ensured the safe recovery of the abducted girl and the apprehension of the suspect.
