Three more positive patients died of COVID19 infections in Tripura in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 24.
On Saturday night, the health department in a bulletin mentioned that the COVID19 death toll in Tripura stands at 24.
However, in the bulletin, the state health department did not divulge any more details.
Tripura reported the first case of COVID19 death on June 17.
According to the health department bulletin, Tripura currently has 1,490 active COVID19 cases while 3,464 other patients have recovered from the disease.
The bulletin said a COVID19 positive patient committed suicide in GBP hospital of Agartala last night.

According to sources, the positive patient jumped from the second floor of GBP hospital in Agartala on Friday night and he died on the spot.
The deceased was from Baikhora of South Tripura and brought to GBP hospital Thursday.
The patient was taken to the hospital from his home as he consumed poison in an attempt to commit suicide.
He was tested on Friday and was found positive for COVID19, but he jumped off the second floor of the hospital on Friday night and passed away.
He was 27 at the time of his death.
On July 29, another patient committed suicide in GBP hospital.
In the month of June, a lady committed suicide at GBP hospital and later, her sample was tested Covid19 positive.
Piya Madhuri Majumder, SDPO of NCC confirmed that the patient who committed suicide on Friday night was a COVID19 patient.
His post-mortem will be conducted on Sunday.
The former Congress MLA and senior congress leader Gopal Roy sharply criticized the state government for the suicide cases.
