Soma Akhtar, a 14-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at her residence at Aralia village of Bishalgarh in Tripura‘s Sepahijala district.
Daughter of Abdul Halim, the ninth standard student reportedly committed suicide on being jilted by her lover.
The incident came to light after Soma’s family members found her hanging from the ceiling fan of her room at about 3:30 am on Wednesday.
The incident has left everyone shocked in the locality.
Police from Bishalgarh Women Police Sation reached the spot and began investigations.
A suicide note was also recovered from a textbook on the spot, where the victim had stated that she took the extreme step as the person she loved did not return her affections.
