The Railway Police recovered 30 kg of dry marijuana on Saturday afternoon in the Agartala Railway Station.
Indrajit Sinha, Officer In-Charge (OC) of the Government Railway Police (GRP) at the Agartala Railway Station, informed that while carrying a special drive against ganja and drugs, around 30 kg ganja was found lying in Platform No 1 in two “unclaimed bags” of the said station. The price of the seized ganjacomes to approximately around
Rs 3 lakh.
Sinha said that the whole drug consignment was meant to be sent outside the State via the Habibganj Express. He also stated that only a day back another 10 kg of ganja was recovered in Tripura. No arrests have been made in the case till the time of filing of this report.

In the month of June, the Railway Police in Agartala Railway Station had recovered 50 kg of dry marijuana worth Rs 37 lakh from the Rajdhani Express. Eight packets of ganja weighing around 50 kilogram were found in the possession of one Lagan Kumar Sethi of Orissa, who was arrested.
The operation was led by Inspector Sourab Dasgupta of the GRP along with Assistant Inspector Sudip Kar while they were checking bags of passengers who were travelling towards New Delhi in the Rajdhani Express.
