In continuation of the Tripura Police’s mission to make the State a drugs free one, the East Agartala Police on Thursday arrested three drug peddlers along with heroine and Myanmar made Yuba tablets, informed police sources in Agartala on Friday.

“Yesterday based on information we have detained one person identified as one Rubalson Debbarma. We have recovered small quantity of heroine from his possession. Later basing on his confessional statement we have been to Gandhigram and arrested two other persons,” said officer in charge of East Agartala police station, Debasish Saha.
“One of them is Bikash Chandra Ray and another Haripad Das. We have seized 4000 Yuba tablets and 650 filled vial containers with heroine and one packet with 32 grams of heroine and around Rs 57,000 which is the sale proceed of the drugs,” he added.
Though the price of the seized drugs could not be confirmed but Saha said, “Actually the price of the seized drugs is under investigation, but it is estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh.”
The anti-drug operation was jointly conducted under the leadership of sub divisional police officer (SDPO) of Mohanpur, SDPO Sadar, OC and officials of East Agartala police station.
The new government of Tripura has launched a mission to make the state drugs free and during last few months recovered more than 20,000 kilogram of marijuana beside brown sugar, heroine, contraband cough syrup and Yuba tablets.
