Tripura is all geared up to celebrate the 72nd Independence Day in a peaceful manner with elaborate security arrangements in place across the State.
As part of security arrangements, all interior police stations are conducting raids in those areas which were once infested with militants.
Search operations have also been intensified in some specific areas of the State during the past few days.
All the urban police stations of the State have also been conducting search operations in all busy market places, rail stations and entire stretch of railway tracks in Tripura, bus stands, airport and hotels.
Dog and bomb squads have been pressed into service to thwart any subversive activities in the run-up to the Independence Day celebrations.
Patrolling along the long stretch of international border with Bangladesh has also been intensified by BSF jawans.
BSF sources said that additional troops have been deployed along the entire stretch of the border, while vigil and patrolling have been intensified to prevent movement of anti-national elements.
Checking has also been intensified at the Agartala airport ahead of Independence Day.
