The Tripura Government on Saturday passed a new recruitment policy as part of which all recruitments will be based on written examination results.
This was stated by State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
A decision to this effect was passed at a meeting of the State Cabinet presided over by State Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Nath further said that the same meeting has totally annulled the old recruitment policy followed by the erstwhile Left Front Government.
He went on to state that a new institution to conduct written examination for all types of government recruitment will be set up soon on the lines of Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TRB), which is conducting selection of government teachers after carrying out Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET).
Nath also reiterated that written test is compulsory for all government recruitments, even in Group-D category to ‘maintain transparency’.
However, in case of technical posts like driver and DPT operator and the likes, there will be ten per cent marks for showing their skill.
He further said the entire process will be video graphed to ensure only genuine person get selected.
Congress reaction: Meanwhile, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee reacted to the new recruitment policy announced by the State Government.
Stating that the State Government has a right to revise old policies and announce new ones and to this process the PCC has no objection, the PCC also demanded that the new policy be tailored to make a provision for employment of overaged and politically victimized people during the Left rule.
