After day-night preparations, Tripura gets ready to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

The PM is scheduled to unveil a statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the last reigning king of Tripura at the airport which has been recently renamed after the Maharaj.

After his programme in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi is likely to land at Agartala’s Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport at 3 pm on Saturday, he will unveil the statue and then address a public rally at Swami Vivekananda stadium later in the afternoon.

At the Swami Vivekananda stadium beside the public rally, he will inaugurate of a new structure of the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) and a 23 km long railway track between Garjee in Gomati district and Belonia in South Tripura.

A high-level security team led is looking into the security aspect and besides the Tripura Police, a team of SPG personnel is also engaged to assess the security arrangements.

Heavy deployment of police and all necessary security arrangements have been made.

The roads and the Swami Vivekananda Stadium have been decorated as work is still going on day and night to welcome the PM.

Along with other top officials, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb himself is monitoring the arrangements for the PM’s visit.
