Agartala: On the night of Saturday a clandestine operation unfolded as Tripura Police intercepted a fake Border Security Force (BSF) vehicle at Durga Chowmuhani village of Dhalai District and seized cannabis worth Rs. 76 lakh.
Police sources said that acting upon discreet intelligence, the vigilant officers of Kamalpur police station embarked on their mission, swiftly halting the suspicious green-clad Bolero Vehicle adorned with the registration number AS11 U 4106 at the vicinity of Durga Chowmuhani, adjacent to the SPO camp.

“The cloak of the night shrouded our endeavors for a ‘Nasha Mukt Tripura’ as the clock struck 0100 Hrs. Acting on confidential information our valiant police force detained a vehicle that bore semblance to a BSF conveyance, raising immediate suspicion. Regrettably, the driver and co-driver of the vehicle evaded apprehension, abandoning their conveyance laden with a most illicit cargo,” said a cop.
Elaborating on the illicit discovery, he revealed, “The vehicle, originating from the Ambassa region, was en route to Fatikroy, Kumarghat, via Durga Chowmuhani. Upon meticulous examination, our diligent officers unearthed a staggering 381.600 kg of Ganja concealed within 41 meticulously packaged bundles, valued at a staggering Rs. 76 lakh. The vehicle itself, an instrument of malfeasance, has been impounded and entrusted to the vigilant custody of our esteemed police station.”
